April Event

April 25,26,27,28

Silver City, NM and surrounds

Our April trip will be a 4-day tour to Silver City, NM and surrounding points of interest. There will be a return through northeastern Arizona and a trip southbound on the Coronado Trail.

There will be no group dinner in Silver City on Friday evening; all members are on their own. We will be dining as a group at the Buckhorn near Silver City on Saturday, April 26th. There are two ways of going with this and we need your answer promptly because we have to respond to the restaurant so they, in turn, know what to plan.

They offer 5 entrees - prime rib, steak, fish, shrimp, and chicken - and prices range from $22.50 to $27.50 tax and tip included ( a bargain as far as I can see). We can attend a western show in the Opera house for an additional $10 per person, while we dine. If we attend the show, our meal and the show starts at 8 PM. If we dine only, we eat at 6:30 PM and have to be out of there by 8 PM. I really need your response, post haste, and the majority rule will apply. There won't be separate checks available but we can work that out among us.

Here's the info you need for lodging in Silver City April 25th Friday, and April 26th, Saturday. Holiday Inn Express 1-575-538-2525 TELL THEM YOU ARE WITH THE BMW GROUP The rate is $84.95 basic and they have a selection of rooms available. We were only able to get 11 rooms reserved and at this point in time, we don't know how many members will be attending. There are rooms in Silver City at the newly refurbished Motel 6 if we need them. In any case, CALL NOW to the Holiday Inn Express and get your room reserved - first to apply will get the better choice.

Please send me a note confirming you have made your reservation. If you have not yet sent me your RSVP on the event itself, please make this easier for us and do it now. Everything is predicated on the actual head count and until we get it firmed up, everything else we do is guessing.

Thanks for your help on this.

Since we will be looking for overnight lodging in the area of Alpine, AZ on Sunday April 27th, I have secured a block of rooms at the Sportsman's Lodge. This is the lodge we have noticed on previous trips, just North of Alpine, the Bear Wallow Café, on the right side of the road. They have 12 rooms available on the 27th. If we have more than 12 cars attend, we'll have to figure something out.

Details: our rates, IDENTIFY YOURSELF AS A MEMBER OF THE BMW Z CLUB 1 queen bed $60 per night + tax 2 full sized beds $65 per night + tax.

Includes continental breakfast.

Call and ask for Frank and use your own credit card. Please send me an email so I can keep tract of the members who have secured their room. SPORTSMAN'S LODGE 1-877-560-7626

I am still compiling a list of members who will attend this event. We need a head count for numerous reservations and arrangements necessary for this trip. Please help us with the logistics and get back to me ASAP
