Drive to Lake Havasu City 3/6/10
On Saturday March 6th we will tour to Lake Havasu City by way of the old road, Hwy 60 out of Wickenburg. It is 204 miles one way and it is a very scenic route. We will stay off the main highway and take as many scenic back roads as possible. Some of you may have never been westbound on route 60 since installation of HWY 10 many years ago has made "old 60" a white elephant. In the good old days, route 60 was the only way to go west from our metropolitan area to Los Angeles.
Lake Havasu City is a charming location and has the London Bridge, an interesting piece of history. We'll hang out in the city after lunch so there will be time so see the sights and socialize.
Departure time, location and other details will follow. Please send me your RSVP so I'll have a head count for the lunch. Let's see if we can get a really big turnout for this event. Our club toured Havasu once about 6 years ago as I recall. Unfortunately, I was post op and missed the drive.
In the meantime, here is a link so you can check it out.
