Dinner Drive - 06/12/2010
CLUB TOUR FOR JUNE 12th 2010 An early, evening dinner drive J
Our destination will be Charlie Clark’s Steak House in Pinetop/Lakeside. We have been there a number of times previously and we’ll be dining in the rustic conference room that has been so popular in the past. Dinner is scheduled for approximately 5 PM.

Just to be different and make the drive more interesting, we’re doing it the “back way” through the Salt River Canyon scenic route.
We will meet at the Chevron on the N.W. corner, exit 196, Idaho Rd., off the HWY 60 at 1:30 PM and we’ll depart at 1:45 PM. This time frame suggested by several of the members, will allow us to complete the dinner tour and arrive back home at a more reasonable hour of the evening than did our previous arrangements, which got us back to town around midnight.
Departing the Chevron, we will continue East on Hwy 60 to Globe (aprx 56 miles) where we will pick up Hwy 77/60 North, through the Salt River Canyon and arrive in Show Low. (aprx 88 miles) We will take Hwy 260 East out of Show Low to Pinetop/Lakeside and Charlie Clark’s. (aprx 19 miles) The total distance is approximately 175 miles one way and we’re allowing 3. Hours 15 minutes. We will arrange a stop to refuel for the return trip and it will be called out on the radio.
Finding a suitable place for a comfort stop between Globe and Show Low may be a problem, there may not be one L If that is the case, we will select the first suitable facility as we enter Show Low and we’ll call it out on the radio.
The link below will take you to a local map showing the restaurant location at 1701 East White Mountain Drive.

The ambiance and the food at Charlie Clarks, is excellent and the prices are reasonable. Please arrive at the start with a full fuel tank and bring your club radio along. There will be comfort stops along the way and they will be called out over the radio. In the past, our evening dinner drives to North Country have always been popular with the members and cruising home in the evening with the top down is always a treat.
We do need an accurate head count and we’re sending this out way ahead of time so we can hopefully attract a lot of interest and get a large group participating. Please RSVP and mark the event on your calendar, Saturday June 12th
Thanks
