         We made a small adjustment in the previously published time for the event.
                  we will meet in Fountain Hills at 2:45 and depart at 3:00 PM

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We will be driving to Mormon Lake Lodge and Restaurant on Saturday August 24th for an afternoon/dinner drive.
We’ll  assemble at 2:45 PM in Fountain Hills at the Target shopping center on Shea Blvd & Saguaro Blvd, please assemble at the West end near the Starbucks. Refreshments and a restroom are available and we’ll depart at 3:00 sharp. Please start with a full fuel tank and remember to bring your club radio with you.
We will drive east on Shea Blvd to Hwy 87 and turn north and the first stop will be the gas station in Payson for a 15 minute comfort break. We will continue north on Hwy 87 to Pine, Strawberry and Clint’s Well. Just past Clint’s Well we will turn left off Hwy 87 to Hwy 87A toward Flagstaff. Be sure you do not continue straight ahead on Hwy 87 as it will take you to Winslow. When we reach Mormon Lake Road we turn left and go to the restaurant.  This road is very easy to miss. At one time there was a wooden sign on the right side of Hwy 87A pointing left to the lodge, but I don’t think it is there anymore. I believe there is a green road sign that says “Mormon Lake Lodge Road.”
If you are traveling with the group it will not be a problem for you but if you get separated for some reason you will have to pay very close attention and look for the turnoff to the left.
The phone number for the Lodge is 928 354 2227 or 928 774 0462
If all goes well we should arrive around 5:30 PM.
Please send me your RSVP ASAP because I will need an accurate head count for the restaurant. We are hoping for a large turnout since many of you missed the July Durango tour. The drive from Payson to the lodge is one of the prettiest in the state and a great sports car road to boot. The evening drive home with the tops down is always spectacular and gives us a break from the hot summer Valley temperatures. Hope to see many of you attend, and guests also.
Thanks for your support of the club
