We’ll meet at the Albertson’s center on Carefree
Hwy just East of I 17 at 9:00 AM on the east
side of McDonalds. We’ll depart at 9:20AM.
There will be a 15-minute comfort break at the
McDonalds in Wickenburg. We’ll depart westbound on Hwy 60 to Wenden
about 50 miles where we will turn north and drive to the destination
which is about 35 miles up the road where
we will continue to the park for lunch.
The distance one way from Phoenix is about 125 miles. There is a $7.00
per car admission fee, this is an Arizona state park.
Please see the pictures and info on the area,
it is quite interesting our club was there in
2012. If the weather is bad, we will meet at the same time and
location but we’ll make Prescott our destination and Picnic at the park
or some other suitable location in Prescott. The temperature at Alamo
Lake should be about 65 degrees according to averages, so that should be
quite comfortable. You might want to bring your camera and a telephoto
lens and/or binoculars or a telescope, there is a lot of game in the
area and other interesting sights. Also suggest you bring a small
folding chair that will fit the Z trunk and/or a blanket to sit on.
Please see this link
for the
available facilities, much more than I can put in this email. Store for
food, like hot dogs, restrooms handicap accessible, and much more.
Please
email me your RSVP
so I will know whom to look for at the start.
See you on Saturday
November 16th.
