We’ll meet at Goldfield Road exit 198 off Hwy 60 turn right, and meet at
the Chevron station. This is just west of Apache Jct.
Meet at 9:00 AM and depart at 9:15 AM.
Take Hwy 87 North arrive in Payson at
10:00 AM.
Add a 15 minute comfort break at the Casino gas station.
Depart Payson at approximately
10:15 AM
take Hwy 87 N. about ½ mile to Hwy 260 east, turn right toward Heber and
Show Low. It is about 90 miles from Payson to Show Low. If necessary, we
can find a comfort break between Payson and Show Low, the Chevron in
Heber would be a good place to stop and maybe some of us will fill the
fuel tank and that should get us to Pinetop and back home.
There is a Circle K gas station on the corner of Hwy 260 and Deuce of
Clubs, (main drag in Show Low) ; anyone can stop there and fill the fuel
tank if needed. If you prefer Chevron, there is one down the street at
480 E. Deuce of Clubs. Turn left on to Hwy 260 and follow it to the GPS
address provided below. It is about 9 miles from Show Low to Pinetop.
There is a lot of commercial road traffic on some of that 9-mile stretch
and officer “friendly” loves to hand out tickets there.
