-
127 miles from
Albertson’s to Flagstaff
-
Flagstaff to
Williams 34 miles
We
will have a comfort break stop at
Camp Verde at the
McDonalds, 15 minutes, turn off I 17 at the 285 off ramp.
Upon departure, continue to Flagstaff, it’s 57 miles north of Camp
Verde. With the comfort break our overall time should be 2 hrs. 30 min
from the start to Main Street in Williams.
From Albertson’s to Williams is 161 miles.
When reaching Flagstaff follow the signs west, to Hwy 40
to Williams, 34 miles
Follow the signs to the Main Street area, we will try to park close to
one another and decide a plan for the agenda. Some of us will probably
head to the Grand Canyon Mountain Coaster, a mile long, control your
kart on the rails WOW !!!
There are many places to eat lunch there, we don’t all have to eat at
the same time or same place,
we’ll work it out
👌
This will be an interesting destination since the club has
never visited there previously and it is a great town with a lot of
interesting stuff to see and do.
Thanks for joining in and supporting the club in it’s 28th
year of fun
🤪👍😂
See
you on the 14th
Paul
Please arrive with a full fuel tank, club name tag, and bring your club
radio along with a copy of this route guide.
Upon departing McDonald’s on Carefree Hwy, we
will head west on Carefree Highway, hwy 74, to Hwy 60, (about 20 miles)
and turn north to Wickenburg about 35 miles where we will stop at the
large Shell station and snack store for a 20-minute comfort break.
Leave the Shell station and turn right to pick
up Hwy 60/93 from the traffic circle and drive North which is a right
hand turn out of the traffic circle. Several miles out of town Hwy 89
branches off to the right, take
hwy 89 to Yarnell (do
NOT remain on hwy 93 ).
About 13 miles further on 89, you will come to
Kirkland Junction; there is a sign there directing you. Turn left; that
road is 4 miles long and will take you to the junction of Iron Springs
Rd. and hwy 96 that will be right in front of you. We take hwy 96 to hwy
97, sound familiar? Those are the twisty roads we take when we go to
Prescott “the back way” but we are driving in the opposite direction
this time. As we near Bagdad, there may be a sign directing us to
Bagdad but if we simply follow hwy 97 it will take us there. The
name of the restaurant is “The Diner On Main Street.”
For you GPS users, the address for the diner is 103 Main Street Bagdad
AZ, 86321.The phone number for the Diner is 928 633 6770.
We have an
option for the return drive, take hwy 97 west to hwy 93 then south to
Wickenburg and back to the Valley.
Or you can take hwy 97 east and drive back the way we came up and enjoy
those wonderful twisty roads twice in one day.
The outbound
drive
to the Diner is about 145 miles as best
as I can calculate it and the return drive
distance will vary depending upon which route you take.
Please send me your RSVP so I will have a head count for the restaurant.
Cheers, and thank all of you for your support of the club. I plan to keep
it going as long as we have interested members to enjoy the activities
and socializing with the other members.
I hope we get a good turnout.
